The leadership of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria reflects a legacy of scholarship, principled advocacy, and institutional continuity.
1993-2021
Founding President of the Council. Under his leadership, the Council became a major voice of Islamic advocacy in Nigeria and played a significant role in the movement for the re-implementation of Shariah in several northern states beginning in 1999.
2021-2025
Succeeded the founding President and provided steady leadership during a period of consolidation and continued national engagement on issues affecting Muslims in Nigeria.
2025-Date
Assumed leadership following the demise of Sheikh Hadiyyatullah. Under his presidency, the Council continues to promote Islamic scholarship, advocate justice and religious freedom, and strengthen unity within the Muslim Ummah.
